Mountain Lions, Bobcats, Coyotes and Rattlesnakes....Oh my.

This morning we took a hike on the self-guided Nature Trail.  Every couple hundred yards there was  an interesting placard that described vegetation, plant or animal life, or geology. I did not realize there were mountain lions in the area.  Good thing we didn't take Trixie with us on this hike.

The park is part of the Sonoran Desert.  I used to think that the desert was mostly sand.  Not here.  There is a fair amount of plant life and a limited amout of animal life.  Water is the key ingredient and both forms of life have adapted to desert conditions.

We had hoped to take a trail that would take us to some native ruins, but we would have had to cross a stream and didn't want to risk getting our hiking boots soaked. We'll try again tomorrow, but we will cross the stream in beach shoes and then switch to hiking boots when we get to the other bank.

Not much else to say and no more photos.  Tomorrow should be more interesting.  Stay tuned.
